Connecting with Your Higher Self

Ingrid Karazincir, Psychic and Reiki Master, leads you through a short meditation to open a connection with your Higher Self and channel the Universal Energy into your body. Effective and powerful, especially done every day.

Re Hu Tek energy is ancient and came to Earth around 10000 years ago to individuals who were spiritually aware enough to handle and use it. It was kept active through chosen people who would continue the lineage. Descendants (soul lineage descendants) of these original Re Hu Tek masters are now researching this early period of Re Hu Tek history. Re Hu Tek consists of two distinct, yet compatible, energies: Re Hu Tek cosmic and earth energies 1. Cosmic energy coming into the crown chakra. 2. Earth energy coming up from the Earth to enter the body through the feet and root chakras. How is Re Hu Tek different from other Universal Energy Modalities? Universal energy is pliable and adaptable. Over time, and with enough repetition and use in directed ways, it will develop into a specific archetypal energy. Throughout history, people have applied their beliefs, intent, and techniques to universal energy in a wide variety of ways, a recipe of sorts, for practical uses according to the needs of their culture or society. Reiki – The Word

First, here’s a look at what Reiki is …

Reiki is a Japanese spiritual and healing practice that supports you in feeling more connected to life.

You can either experience a Reiki treatment or study how to practice Reiki for yourself.

A Reiki treatment is one-hour long and is useful for specific healing or general relaxation. The client remains fully clothed at all times as the practitioner goes through a set healing process placing hands on or just off the body as agreed with the client prior to the treatment. Sex, age and condition are of no concern as the client’s own body controls this energetic process. During the treatment the body will only take the amount of energy that it requires. A Reiki treatment is not intrusive and clients do not remove clothing and no private parts of the body are touched. If a client is wishing to work on a specific issue or health problem it is advisable to book for three one-hour treatments.

A 2-day Reiki course (called Shoden) will teach you:
* meditation techniques to strengthen and clear your energy
* to gain a clearer understanding of the working of energy in your life and its benefits
* to find a spiritual connection to life helping you to feel happier and healthier
* to heal the self and others using hand positions on or near the body

Most importantly, remember that the system of Reiki is about you and your spiritual journey.

Reiki – The Word
Two kanji (pictographs from Japan) make the word Reiki.

Previously these 2 kanji have been translated as ‘Universal Energy’ (or Universal Life Force Energy) in the West. This is obviously a translation of the 2nd kanji, ki, only. Ki is naturally the energy of everything including heaven and earth, the entire universe.

The first kanji, rei, may have been left out of English translations due to the fact that the term ‘spiritual’ was not the focus of the Western practice in the 20th century.

Modern Japanese also find the kanji for Reiki to be ‘spooky’ therefore in Japan these kanji are not used. Instead a different script that is phonetical and does not contain meaning (katakana) is used.

In Chinese, the same 2 kanji used to represent Reiki are pronounced differently but have a similar meaning. In Chinese, Reiki is called Ling chi.

Ling chi is the subtlest and most highly refined of all the energies in the human system and the product of the most advanced stages of practice, whereby the ordinary energies of the body are transformed into pure spiritual vitality. This type of highly refined energy enhances spiritual awareness, improves all cerebral functions, and constitutes the basic fuel for the highest level of spiritual work.

Pronunciation
To pronounce the word ‘Reiki’ in Japanese it is necessary to forego any preconceptions about language. The first sound in ‘rei’ is neither an R nor an L, as some Westerners believe. In Japanese the sound is in fact somewhere in between the two letters. The Japanese language has no correlation with English or its pronunciations.

The first time that the government initiated a standardized system and romaji (English letters used to translate kanji) were introduced was in 1885. The kanji for ‘rei’ ‘is officially spelt with an R when translating into English and is therefore pronounced with an R (even though the Japanese pronunciation might sound similar to what is understood as an L in English).

The Deeper Meaning of the Word Reiki

One literal translation of Reiki is spiritual energy or universal energy. We suggest that Reiki may have another meaning – one that does not stem from a literal translation but rather from one’s direct experience.

When we practice the various elements that comprise the system of Reiki we utilize spiritual energy (Reiki). Practitioners are surprised when they discover in their practice that different stages exist within this spiritual energy. A path is unearthed and those who conscientiously practice the elements of the system of Reiki gradually see where it is heading.

To tap into this spiritual energy, in it’s completeness, is to have arrived at the advanced stages of our personal spiritual practice. To paraphrase the experience of receiving the full effect of Reiki actually means to achieve satori*.

At this stage all our ordinary perceptions are transformed and we realise our true potential as human beings.

Attaining this enlightened state of mind and becoming pure light is the ultimate goal of a Reiki practice. This is reflected by the mantra and kanji (symbol) that are practiced at the third and final level of the system. The mantra literally translated from the Japanese means ‘great bright light’. So the goal is to become this great bright light by achieving a state of non-duality or satori.

As practitioners we say we channel Reiki but in effect we only tap into a small amount of this spiritual energy until our energy has become strong enough to channel pure spiritual energy. In other articles about the system we have said that we are Reiki or spiritual energy. Yes, fundamentally we are Reiki but as long as our true realization of this state is limited then so too is our ability.

To achieve satori may take years and years of practice and there is no shortcut by means of using secret symbols or mantras. What is required though is perseverance and the right understanding of how to work with the basic elements of the system of Reiki.

Without this right understanding we just fumble about in the dark never reaching the great bright light. So it is necessary to go back to the roots of the system and practice with the tools as Usui sensei intended us to.

In conclusion, we may not channel the completeness of Reiki, but we do practice a system called Reiki. And, when we finally become the great bright light we will still not say that we channel the completeness of Reiki as, once achieved, such statements no longer hold importance.

*Satori means Enlightenment

Kundalini “Fire” Reiki

Kundalini Reiki is one of several specialized forms of the Reiki tradition. Through the Kundalini form, one is able to open to specific universal energies that can be used in their healing process. By knowing the specifics about Kundalini Reiki, you can include it in your armamentarium of healing methods in your practice.
Kundalini is described as a word that means there is an opening of your chakras and healing channels. By opening these channels, you then gain access to the Earth’s energies. This type of opening and healing method is also often times referred to as Kundalini “fire.” This is because it is calling on the Earth energies to help with healing.
The major chakra that is focused on in Kundalini healing is the root chakra. This is the first and lowest of the seven chakras. With the opening of this specific energy center, one will be given access to the Earth’s energies freely. These energies will then be able to run through the different chakras and up to the crown chakra, where you will be able to open your consciousness.
The difference between Kundalini Reiki and traditional Reiki is the attunements that are used for healing. Traditional Reiki does not focus on one chakra, but rather on where the energy is blocked. Kundalini Reiki focuses primarily on the root chakra. Because of this focus, there will be different attunements that are used in order to open this chakra.
Like traditional Reiki, Kundalini Reiki involves different levels of training.
In level one Reiki, you will be able to open up your different channels for energy flow. You can then strengthen these chakras and energy flows.
From here, you will move to the second level, where you will learn how to strengthen your energy chakras.
You will then be taught specific meditations in order to help you with channeling the universal energies.
When you move into the Kundalini Reiki Master level, you will open other chakras and focus on advanced universal energy flows. You will also focus on knowing how to channel the Kundalini fire energy.
Through opening these different flows, Kundalini Reiki can help you to gain higher consciousness and use the energies of the earth in order to learn how to heal on several different levels. Some who are interested in restructuring DNA will often use Kundalini Reiki as a basis for their therapy, as it allows one to be able to use the root chakra and earth energies produced from it. This DNA restructuring is said to help those who have genetic problems, such as diseases, to be able to heal through calling on earth energies.
This type of Reiki is one variation of several that can help with your healing and with allowing you to become in tune to the universal energies. The concentration in this training will be on earth energies and attunements relating to this. Through the use of Kundalini Reiki, one will understand how to open the different chakras, and use the root chakra in order to use Earth energies for healing.

What Is Reiki? (Part I)

The action to put your hands on yours or other people`s or animals` body to heal is in our nature. When we feel pain the first thing we do is to bring our hands where we have pain.
When we have fever we put our hands on our forehead to reduce suffer. The touch brings heat, serenity and healing. Animals do almost the same when they leak a wounded part of their body. In the animal world a mother leaks her kids when they are sick and human beings touch their babies with their hands.
The human or animal body irradiates heat and energy, which is vital force. This concept is well known and mentioned in all the human cultures, and this energy has different names according to each of these cultures. For example in India it is called Prana and because of this name we today talk about prana healing. Chinese call it Chi and for this reason today we know about Chi Kung, an ancient healing discipline.
In Reiki the healers have to open the energetic channels and to remove the blocks through harmonisations. The healers receive the energy to heal them and connect to the source of the universal energy, also called universal Ki. Reiki is not a religion; neither is connected to a religion. It is the source of life. It is an entity and as a concept is even older than religious philosophy.
Every living thing has Ki inside. Who or what receives a harmonisation or attenuement is in direct contact with its illuminated source. There is more than one level of attenuement. With the first level the living entity becomes a channel that drives the energy. When the first attenuement is received, in the future the entity has to put its hands on its or other entities body to connect to the universal Ki. The energy will flow automatically.
The attenuement that put into direct contact to the source of Ki, increases the vital energy also of those receiving it. They realize an energy that heals them and they would be able to heal other people, and this energy will not extinguish. When receiving the attenuement the entity is getting a gift which will change its life in positive.
The harmonization or initiation is a process that makes Reiki different from any other method of hand imposition or healing through physical contact. It is not a healing session, but it is the procedure created by a healer. At the first level the beginner receives the first combined attenuements, at the second level another one and a final one at the third level. Each attenuement increases the capability to channel Ki. The attenuements are the essence of Reiki. Reiki does not have sense without attenuements. There should always be a healer and a receiver. The transmission of attenuements follows a nice ritual process, but sometimes it can be performed faster without any ceremony.
During one of the attenuements of the three levels of Reiki the master stands behind the student and draw the Reiki symbols. Then he moves in front of the student and again behind repeating the process. Those receiving attenuements can realize different feelings. Someone can see colours or images, someone else can see past existences. Some are covered by light or feel a sensation of peace or of love or wonder. Everyone feels something but the levels can be different from individual to individual.
When someone becomes a healer, the first time he or she feels the energy flowing through his or her hands. In this moment, after receiving the attenuement the entity becomes Reiki. There is not anything new but the new situation opens and puts in order what was already present in him or her. It is like providing light energy in a house.
Some masters say that those receiving Reiki in this life are people who already received it in their previous lives. Reiki is a memory according to them. In reality we all have received Reiki as it is part of our genetic patrimony.
Reiki is composed of three degrees. During the attenuement of the first degree the scope is to heal the physical diseases. The beginner in fact feels a physical improvement in the first months after the first attenuement. In fact at the first level the healing sessions are self-healing. The beginner can also heal another person through a direct physical healing. At this aim the healer has to put his or her hands over the body of the person to heal.

De-Stressing with Reiki

Bringing balance into our lives is the most effective way to get the best out of life. The system of Reiki centers on bringing the body back into balance. This is a Japanese technique from the early 1900′s created by Mikao Usui. The word can be translated as either ‘spiritual energy’ or ‘universal energy’. The first level is taught over a two-day period and has dual competencies; the student may use it on clients (in conjunction with other therapies) and on the self as a personal development tool.

The purpose of a Reiki treatment is to re-align and bring the body into a natural balance physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The energy washes down through the body clearing energetic obstructions and strengthening the flow of this energetic ‘river’, or the meridians. Therefore, there are similarities between the system of Reiki and other therapies such as acupuncture. The differences are that this system does not manipulate the energy or body, is not intrusive and is an extremely simple technique that anyone can learn and use in complete safety.

A client will find that Reiki works on many levels. This system is not diagnostic and does not aim to achieve specific results. It is believed that the client’s body is always in survival mode and will therefore draw the energy where he/she needs it rather than where the practitioner believes it is beneficial. This is why the practitioner cannot harm the client, as it the client’s body that is in control of what is energetically happening.

To be aligned or balanced sounds wonderful but what does it mean for the client? Initially, one moves into a deep, restful space and may or may not actually sense the energy according to one’s sensitivity. Benefits of this ‘giving over’ to the energy may be clarity of thought, renewed physical strength, calmness, reduced stress levels, a sense of connectedness as well as the easing of conditions such as insomnia, depression and addiction. True relaxation is reflected in one’s face after a Reiki treatment. Stress tightens the muscles and skin and when we relax we look and feel years younger.

Clients do not need to remove any clothing during a treatment and hands are placed either on or just off the body. Practitioners are taught to channel energy from around them through their bodies and out through their hands. The client then draws on this energy. This means that the practitioner does not use his/her own energy and feels refreshed afterwards rather than exhausted. In fact the practitioner is receiving a treatment at the same time as the client -making it beneficial for all involved.

To practise this system it is necessary to learn from a Reiki teacher (often called a Reiki Master). It is possible to integrate Reiki into any health or beauty modality once the practitioner has completed the first level of the 3-part system. If the practitioner wished to work solely with the system of Reiki then it would be suggested that the practitioner complete the second level of the system and join a student clinic to build experience with the energy and on-on-one client skills. The third level of the system continues the practitioner’s own personal development and may be used to begin studying toward becoming a Reiki teacher.

Clients today are more interested in spirituality and well-being than ever before. To be able to bring these elements into the traditional clinic environment of a salon or spa, a special atmosphere is created. Clients today expect ‘Holistic’ treatments. This meaning that they wish to be pampered from every direction including the more mystical and spiritual paths.

It is exciting for clients to know that when they come for a treatment there is likely to be a new element added to the more traditional salon and spa techniques. If a client knows that the practitioner is continually upgrading their knowledge and abilities then the client will also feel confident in such capable hands.

What is Reiki All About?

Reiki is a healing method that became popular in the Western cultures beginning in the twentieth century. It is an ancient healing method that has been used by the Japanese for several centuries. Through Reiki, many people will experience healing, balance, relaxation, and transfers of energy. By knowing how Reiki works, you will be able to use the technique in order to change your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual conscious levels.

When one begins to use Reiki as a practice, there are several principles that are used as guidelines. This will help the understanding of the use of energy to be taught at a higher level. By allowing the principles to be a part of the practice, one can use the energy for spiritual and mental healing easier.

Reiki is known to be a transfer of energy from external to internal environments. The practice began as defining a universal energy that is present in the universe. Those who practice Reiki will then be able to take this universal energy and transfer it into an individual. By doing this, it will change the internal energy level and allow several different types of healing to work.

In order for Reiki to be effective, one is expected to practice several different things. If you are practicing Reiki on your own, there are specific steps to follow. These steps allow you to become in tune to the universal energy, as well as allow you to become focused and relaxed when transferring the energy. Usually, it is best to take a class to learn how to do this effectively. If it is not done properly, it can cause the opposite effect.

The first principle that is taught in Reiki is in relation to the secret of inviting happiness. This is used in order to give students a basic understanding of the different energy flows that they will be using in relation to the Reiki technique. By doing this, the students will be able to understand a level of healing that is taking place. They will also be able to understand a new idea of happiness in relation to using the energy.

The second principle taught is that Reiki is a spiritual medicine for all illness. This idea is mostly taught in order to allow students to understand the basis of Reiki and where it’s emphasis and importance lies. Because it is an alternative healing method, Reiki is able to emphasize the spiritual ties to the method.

For those that are practicing Reiki on their own and decide to take a class, there are several things that will happen. Reiki classes are divided into levels. The more conscious you become of the universal energy and your internal energy, the higher of a level you can move to. Once you become an expert in these methods you can become a teacher, master and healer of this healing method.

The next that is taken in Reiki is to identify the different sources of internal energy that need to be transferred. These will usually be transferred by your breath moving the energy out of your body. Those with illnesses will have parts in their body that have a noticeable different source of energy. You can find this energy through either your intuition, or for those beginning the practice, they can use a light touch to begin recognizing the energy.

Once you recognize the internal and external energy, you can then begin to move the energies out of your body, and new energies in. This is usually done using two methods. Your breathing practice will often times help with this. You can also use a light touch in order to transfer a different energy from the universe. Reiki masters and trainers will usually do the healing using a touch when they are using the method on someone else.

Reiki is known to be an effective method of healing and balancing by several for centuries. By the continuous practice of transferring energy, one will find that healing, balance, relaxation and a different level of focus will take place. Several can use Reiki if they feel that they need a change of energy in their physical, mental, emotional or spiritual lives.
