Reiki is an ancient healing practice that originated in Tibet. This practice has been done for almost 3000 years. The Japanese have used it for relaxation and stress reduction.
It is called a healing practice because it does in fact promote the healing process. This healing takes place through the Chi. Chi is the Japanese word for life force. Reiki itself is composed of two Japanese words, Rei which means God wisdom or higher power, and Ki which means life force energy.
