advancingmist: something I’d like you to bear in mind – the Reiki practitioner believes it will work: as such they are not con artists, regardless of whether or not Reiki exists.
Reiki is handed down from generation to generation from Master to student. It’s ridiculous videos like this one that cause Reiki disrepute. The intention is that the student is taught how to use Reiki and guided – rather like an apprentice.
This video is about as useful as a correspondence course in swimming!

Reiki symbols are SACRED and, as such, should remain secret for those who know how to use them. Those who have made them known clearly don’t respect them. However, the symbols don’t have any effect when used by those who are not attuned. Their use is most powerful when learnt for the first time when the student is attuned, since every time the student uses them s/he will be reminded of the attunement.

point two im white but I see way more crazy white people in the world then I do asian people interesting isn’t it?I’m not saying asian people aren’t ever crazy I am saying that they have better treatments for mental problems and know how to relax better because of their culture, their religion usually is buddhism our religion christianity or muslem, equal to kill all non believers, your going to hell,theirs buddha sitting under a tree and meditating.

NAMASKAR! I’m just wondering why Reiki symbols are not secret now? My master says, it must be secret because of bad people might use it for wrong way. Because Reiki’s symbols are very powerful.

to clarify: The medical knowledge represented by the BOOKS i referred to contains centuries of learning from experience, which has found no evidence that reiki exists. The scientific opinions, derived from BOOKS, which i have quoted to you contain years of research, in other words, contains several life times worth of experience, which in my opinion far out weighs the authority of an isolated individual such as yourself. you had a positive experience, so what? compare it to hypnosis…

your original argument was if i have never personally experienced reiki how can i say it wont work? answer: because centuries of western scientists, the guys filling up the BOOKS, have never detected energy radiated by Reiki “masters”. Im not disputing that reiki works, it is a form of hypnosis and works just as well as hypnosis. BUT the expensive hand gestures of the master are a waste of time. Healing energy is a projection of the patient’s own mind, which is healed by its own expectations.

MORE BOOKS??? and let me ask you this where did the conclusion that you cant drink bleach ORIGINATE from hmmm i take it it comes from a book 2??? so i guess its safe to conclude that in the beginning books created the heaven and the earth (in the since of religion thats ironically true)

im not being negative, i merely disagree with you because i think reiki masters are con artists offering unfocused hypnosis, placing the patient in a state of sugestibility, the mind heals itself, people who pay for a service should understand what they re paying for
Also: i have never personally tried to drink bleach, but im fairly sure it would kill me if i did, your argument that knowledge comes from experience is 100% wrong, how do doctors learn which drugs kill tumors? by studying BOOKS

READ THE TITLE it is an attunment. Other wise you can treat with hands lightly placed on eth charkras or area of pain or held about 2″ above. It does not involve movement on the hands or taking any clothes off. It can be done sitting standing or lying down. I give my friend Reiki and she is now off her anitdepressents (her doctor stopped them) and a very happy bunny – even if it the sense of well being that someone else cares is that not enough???

that is what you belive as you have had it drummed into you form a small child – you are conditioned to it. A Reiki attunmnet is that – acepting a conditioning – you cannot recive it gainst your will and it is NOT brain washing before you go there!!

I dissagree – it is found in hospitals and respite care homes as it give a deep sense of relaxtaion to the reciver (and giver) Stress and anxiety causes cortosetroid to be released in to the body and this is detrimental in large quanities causing the healing process to slow down. It is classed as a COMPLIMENTARY MEDICINE IE use it alongside western medicine until your need for it is self healed.

I had been going to a reiki practictioner since I was a child. I eventually became her student and received my attunements in a matter of days. I used to go to a hospital every month, take 4-5 pills a day, and constantly sick. Now I no longer need my medicine because I am no longer sick.
